Recently we saw the release of Gearblizz’s Overborn A colourful MOBA(esque) attempt to steal the attention away from Unch4rted. Though it isn’t the particular topic of the (what I self-mockingly call an) article, I must, as thousands of others have, address the fact that Overwatch is heralded for being a unique game in a sea of grey-toned military shooters, which had the unfortunate timing of releasing the same time as Gearbox’s new Battleborn, which is essentially the same game but with less effort and bad humour. I was considering doing a Comparing & Contrasting of the two but have had to put the idea on hold due to there being practically no difference. Now all 12 of you reading may be enraged because you feel Overwatch is better, or completely different or maybe you just have a crush on Tracer, but I want you to know I don’t care. My intense dislike for MOBA’s can be considered a short-coming as someone trying to make it in the gaming industry but unfortunately inexplicably having to wait to charge a character’s ultimate will always ultimately piss me off. Surely if my space-knight-demon can pull out a 12 foot dildo which insta-melee kills anyone within its shaft radius that should just be space-demon-Knight’s basic attack, after all we are trying to defend the last star in the entire universe here. (Edit: Genuinely got the stories for Overwatch and Battleborn confused here). Now let’s get the tangent-train back on its way to the point. With Battlewatch’s release there has, of course, been a bit of bad behaviour going on. People who’s demon-knight-astronaughts have 24 hour access to their dildos of death kind of bad behaviour. Blizzard saw these naughty people running around, slapping the faces of Johnny-no-mods and said “Hey that’s not on!” And have ultimately whipped out the old ban hammer. Am I doing something wrong Seriously considering switching DAWs over this. Sometimes its single notes, other times entire items are empty. I was doing damage control for a while, but theres just no fixing it. Like Nintendo when it comes to copyrightID’ing though Blizzard have gone a bit over the top, allegedly. random notes interspersed throughout the entire composition just seem to disappear. The naughtier players of Overwhat reportedly have not only been perma-banned by their account, but have also been banned entirely. Even after purchasing a new copy of the game and using a new account AND not cheating, banned players are supposedly having a fresh ban served up to them within a day or two of playing. One player even claims that after making multiple changes to their MAC Address and other registry info while using a VPN, that Blizz still managed to find and ban the player within two days, despite no funny business on that account. Which was the third the player had bought.
